C++ PRojects
During my first 2 years at university I created a couple of basic C++ projects for assignments that used the SDL library.
The projects are simple games that pulled together the things I had learned through out the year, incorporating things like basic physics, player movement, basic lighting and object rendering. The first game has the player control Denzel who needs to cross from on side of the basketball court to the other, along the way the player needs to dodge the basket balls that are falling from the sky. The main aspect of this project was to simulate the physics aspect of the basketballs bouncing and to get to grips with tracking collision. The second game is a simple isometric shooter in which the player must shoot as many enemy flying saucers as they can, as the levels progress more and more enemies spawn making it harder for the player to survive. The enemy flying saucers have a very basic AI capable of tracking the boundaries of the play area and bouncing back when they reach the edge. I also have a simple scene created as part of a project to help me to grips with using the SDL library to render objects with textures and lighting. The scene shows an animated gyrocopter I created in 3dsmax bobbing up and down. |
